Teaching Resources
The rise of Vietnamese Nationalism and Communism is the climax to the Indochina Wars and is ultimately one of the most significant parts of this topic as Ho Chi Minh is active in this period of history, which ultimately led to the independence of Vietnam. The following excerpts from texts are adequate resources for teachers to familiarise themselves with the specific content to be able to teach it to their students. This segment should not take longer than 1- 2 lessons (1 hour lessons) to teach.

Teaching Strategies
Due to the nature of this topic, the best teaching strategy would be to present the content to the students followed by focusing on essay writing to improve literacy skills. Example questions could be:
- Assess the impact of Nationalism on the Vietnamese people in the period of 1945-1954
- Discuss the differences between Nationalism and Communism and how they played a role during the period of 1945-1954
- To what extent did the French colonialism impact Vietnamese independence movements.
As students will be undertaking a Personality Study in Year 12 it would be ideal to prepare them from now and what better way to do this than by undertaking an in depth study into the Life of Ho Chi Minh.
